KOALA LOU was developed collaboratively between myself and writers Gillian Jorgensen and Jordi Montes (also performer) when we were the lonely island of the Arts Education Department at Book-It Repertory Theatre during the pandemic. When schools re-opened there were restrictions on visitors and gatherings, so KOALA LOU was designed for individual classrooms and embraced a DIY-feel, with puppets and props made with materials around the house, like many students had to do during Zoom learning. The story identifies feelings of loneliness, failure, competition, and how kids can talk about these feelings when they find them in their selves and others.

MAYBE was the next year's iteration of this same intimate classroom story performance with Kobi Yamada's imaginative book. This one had a lot of "wow" moments for the kids to discover and create in turn.

TRYING was our first show back to touring in school auditoriums. There was a lot of creative use of pool noodles and ribbon to signify creating and imagining in the mediums of sculpture and drawing. This story emphasized the beauty of failure as a means to learn and invent.
